Updat on Charlie Morton - June 2007 Empty
PostSubject: Updat on Charlie Morton - June 2007   Updat on Charlie Morton - June 2007 EmptyMon Jun 11, 2007 5:50 am

Charlie is now back home but has to return to Southampton three times a week for day treatment. This will be reduced to twice a week in a few weeks time.

He is very relieved to be home and was sitting out in the lovely sunshine on Sunday with some of his family.

He is obviously very weak from the extended period of little direct food intake but is slowly recovering his appetite again.

Just a quick update. Most of you may have heard that Charlie has been given the "All-Clear" following some tests last month. This means that he is in remission and is now busy working on putting on weight and regaining his strength. I know that he has set himself a goal of trying to walk around the Light Green course at Wimborne's Galoppen on September 30th so any of you coming to that event should hopefully see him.

On a slightly different note Karen's brother (i.e. Charlie's brother-in-law) who is not a runner has entered the Great North Run which, coincidentally takes place on September 30th. By entering and running this event he is hoping to raise as much money as possible which will be split between Leukaemia Research and Macmillan Cancer Relief. Ian Sayer was hoping to try and collar as many of you as possible at the Wessex AGM/Quiz but Karen needs the form back by Sunday 23rd.

So if any of you would like to sponsor Charlie's brother-in-law for these worthwhile causes please let Ian have your name, address and postcode and amount of your sponsorship. Also please indicate if you would like Ian to tick the box for Gift Aid which means that the Charities can claim back tax on your donation. Ian doesn't like asking for sponsorship but knowing what Charlie and his family have gone through over the past 12 months brings it home to you what people have to suffer and how research has improved people's chances of surviving this terrible disease. lease e-mail Ian by the end of this week, i.e. Friday 21st September. Address is Isayer@exchangeandmart.co.uk Many Thanks.
